Charles Cramb, former CFO of cosmetics direct seller giant Avon Products Inc, has reportedly been fired from the company in conjunction with a regulatory investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC probe into Avon was elicited by reports that last year Cramb shared confidential information with a Citigroup analyst about a bribery investigation in China. Activities in other areas of the world are also being scrutinized.

Cramb served as CFO since 2005, and became interim CFO early last year. He was also the vice chairman of the company’s developed market group.

Last month, the company announced that it planned to find a replacement for corporate CEO Andrea Jung.

The company separated the roles of chairman and chief executive officer. Jung, who currently held both titles, left her post as CEO, which she has held since 1999, and retains the position of executive chairman. A new CEO has not yet been named.
